On the way to work, along highways, narrow and winding country roads – driving is your passion. That’s how it was when you went go–karting as a kid and that’s how it is to this day.
As chip tuners, we are driven by a motoring passion – everyone should have the opportunity to experience the improved acceleration and better driving dynamics that come from engine tuning.
Chip tuning improves power output primarily by electronically optimising the fuel injection and boost levels.
Forced induction on petrol engines can be by means of Supercharger or Turbocharger.
The most common fuel–delivery systems for diesel engines are common rail injection and pump–nozzle injection. RaceChip power modules can be fitted to Turbo Diesel cars with particulate filters with no problem.
Today’s engines are controlled electronically using software. RaceChip plug–in devices access this software via specially developed mini–computers which are as advanced and sophisticated as state of the art OEM ECU units fitted by leading manufacturers.
This is the only way that RaceChip optimisation software can register, optimise and relay the sheer number of parameters involved and still maintain the high product quality we are committed to.
Our customers are often amazed by how user–friendly our high–tech products are. The technology is sophisticated but the installation is straight forward, using our clear and easy to follow instructions.
And the driving experience? It’s fantastic.
With a performance upgrade from RaceChip, cars often develop more power than the next model up in the range, at a fraction of the dealer price premium.
Why do models produced by the same manufacturer with same engine size and number of cylinders have different power outputs? Because often the only difference between more powerful engines today is the engine management parameters within the ECU.
The hardware is the same – it’s the software that makes the difference.
RaceChip electronic tuning works according to the same principle.
It means we can make the most of the power reserves in your engine and help you enjoy the performance of a more powerful car at a fraction of the price you would pay otherwise.
Even if your car has a powerful engine as stock, the design engineers have built in sufficient performance reserves to allow for extreme climatic conditions and varying fuel octane grades around the world. If your car is a less powerful base model, these reserves will be utilised by the manufacturers to market as more expensive “Performance” variants with the same engine type. Their factory tuned engines produce more power, but at a premium dealer price. Engine optimisation by RaceChip can tap into these built – in reserves to give you a new, exciting driving experience in your current car, at a fraction of that price difference you would expect to pay when choosing a more powerful model.
